Jana Cook is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a BA in Communications

She began her career in sales for KMPH-TV in Fresno, California, then headed for Seattle and her first job on the other side of the desk, as a media buyer for Cole & Weber Advertising. She also worked for a media buying service, Ad Media, Inc., also in Seattle, before returning to the middle west to settle in Kansas City.

Jana joined Jewell Baker Zander in 1991. She was responsible for servicing accounts, writing market research questionnaires and conducting focus groups. Her main agency function was that of media planner, negotiator, and buyer for all mediums: print, broadcast, on-line and outdoor.

After JBZ closed their doors in April, 2005 Jana began her own business as JCook Media Inc. providing media planning, buying and market research services.
